Criteria for Choosing the Psychology Program Coordinator
The program coordinator is selected according to the following specific, approved criteria:
- Distinguished academic activity in their field of specialization.
- Possession of strong administrative and leadership skills, as well as innovation, communication, discussion, and persuasion skills.
- Participation in student activities and services.
- Contributions to quality assurance, development, and accreditation.
- Ability to build and manage a team.
- Willingness to attend training courses, workshops, and specialized seminars in quality systems, development, and accreditation.
- Strong knowledge of the program, its outcomes, and its alignment with the market needs, as well as familiarity with course syllabi.
- Strong cooperation skills and good relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and subordinates.
- A professional record demonstrating integrity and commitment.
- Familiarity with educational regulations, laws, and governing rules.

Difference Between Psychology Departments in Arts and Education Faculties
First: Differences exist in vision, mission, objectives, academic benchmarks, and course content between Arts and Education programs.
Second: The title of graduates and job opportunities differ. Graduates of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts are titled “Psychologist Specialist” and may work in psychiatric hospitals, mental health hospitals, general hospitals, psychological clinics, mental health centers, private clinics, and specialized medical centers. Field training is conducted on clinical cases in hospitals.
Graduates of Faculties of Education are titled “Teacher” and work in schools under the Ministry of Education, with field training conducted in schools for teacher preparation.
Third: Graduates of Faculties of Education are not permitted to practice psychotherapy according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health committee.
Fourth: Academic promotion committees for professors and associate professors in Education faculties do not include the title of Clinical Psychology professor.
Specialized Programs Offered by the Psychology Department – Faculty of Arts, Banha University (Bachelor’s Level)
- First Program: Clinical Psychology Program, approved by the Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities.
- Second Program: Addiction Psychology and Therapeutic Methods Program, in cooperation with the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction under the Cabinet. It serves as a training and employment partner and is currently under sector review for approval.
