As part of Banha University’s celebrations marking the 52nd anniversary of the glorious October victories, the Media Department at the Faculty of Arts participated in a seminar titled “Media and the October Victory.” The event was held under the patronage of Professor Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University; Professor Amgad Hegazy, Dean of the Faculty; supervised by Professor Sherine El-Shoura, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and coordinated with Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University.

The seminar addressed the heroic achievements of the Egyptian army, whose brave soldiers achieved remarkable feats during the crossing battle through meticulous planning, unbreakable will, and great sacrifices that embodied the meanings of courage, sacrifice, and loyalty to the nation. Speakers highlighted scenes of heroism on the front lines and how these stories became eternal symbols in the memory of Egyptians and a source of inspiration for generations in resilience, steadfastness, and achieving victory despite hardships.

The seminar also reviewed how Egyptian media, through its various platforms—press, radio, television, and cinema—managed to document the events of the October victory moment by moment, portraying an enduring national epic that captured the heroism of the Egyptian army and sincerely reflected the unity between the people and their armed forces. At that time, the media stood as a witness to victory and a record of history, conveying the voice of the front to every home, spreading hope in hearts, igniting determination in souls, and contributing to raising morale while reinforcing values of belonging and pride in Egyptian identity.

The seminar concluded with an inspiring message to Media Department students, emphasizing that words are both a responsibility and a trust, and that a true media professional understands the impact of their words in shaping the awareness of the nation and protecting its values. Students were encouraged to become true creators of awareness, using media tools to serve the nation and strengthen the spirit of belonging and development—drawing inspiration from the spirit of October, with its meanings of strong will, unwavering determination, and faith that a sincere word can be a weapon in the battle of awareness just as the rifle was in the battle of victory.
