Program Objectives

  • To equip students with knowledge, skills, and concepts in the field of English language and literature, while benefiting from supporting disciplines in serving the specialization.

  • To connect the past with the present and anticipate the future based on objective data derived from the study of English civilization.

  • To develop students’ critical thinking and scientific research skills grounded in objectivity, away from intellectual bias, and to familiarize them with the ethics and fundamentals of academic research.

  • To develop students’ ability to analyze literary works logically and critique them according to various critical theories.

  • To equip students with language skills for using reference materials required in their study of English language and literature in another foreign language.

  • To develop students’ skills in formulating information in a scientifically accurate manner.

  • To develop students’ ability to utilize computers and modern technologies in support of academic, practical, linguistic, and literary skills.

  • To enable students to employ various fields of English language and literature in serving society in a positive way.

  • To instill citizenship values and intercultural understanding through the study of English and American culture, history, and literature.

  • To equip students with Arabic language skills (speaking, writing, and reading) to qualify them for the local and regional job market.
